a moment
i remember vacating my office building for a period of time, on a quest of some artistic form, be it browsing in a paper or art store. some sort of release after doing next to nothing all day behind a computer was my mission. but alas, i returned empty-handed.
but i also returned with a happy heart. oddly enough, especially considering that summer is decidedly over, that we are a mere two weeks from emerging into darkness at 5 pm and that the holiday hustle and bustle is upon us.
merry-go-rounding through the revolving doors into the lobby, i readied my ID badge to scan for “authorized access” (oh thank you, post-9/11 security measures), when off to the right i saw a string quartet. certainly not something you encounter everyday in a stuffy office building downtown. better still, was the fact that they were playing elton john’s now classic track thanks to the disney blockbuster movie, “the lion king.” yep. “circle of life.” the most humourous detail remains as the celebratory cause: the aon center was boasting a new management company. yes. the circle of life, indeed.
