a road to nowhere

and yes, that is a deliberate reference to the talking heads song as it is currently on repeat on my non-ipod mp3 player. i’m hoping that’s at least a step up from the kelly clarkson “since u been gone” rotation from a few weeks ago.

so, the “nowhere” song was playing on the stereo in the office, which seemed almost eerily ironic considering it’s my last day here. well, for now at least with this particular freelance gig.

and i have no other work lined up aside from intermitten appearances at the same agency. and believe it or not, i’m pretty comfortable in the land of uncertainty. at least for now.

at any rate, my pseudo-boss was nice enough to bring in treats for the occasion when the observation of “gee, it’s beginning to look like scuba diving weather” was brought up. they only bring it up because they all know about my fits of wanderlust, i.e. “hi, let’s move to the caribbean and be a beach bum for a bit.”

oh, if only times were as simple as a mere two years ago. the truth is, i’ve grown up a bit. though entertaining ideas of departing the country for lands afar for indefinite amounts of time seems inspiring and adventurous, sigh, i don’t think i have the ambition anymore. though i could certainly be swayed.

but until then, i’ll continue down this road…to nowhere.
