another one gone

a nightly ritual that has developed over the past month or so is turning my computer on at home to peruse various people’s blogs and whatnot. and tonight was no different.

old aunt amy gave her audience a treat with an eerily abundant resource of karl lagerfeld factoids. thanks to her mild obsession with models and years of subscriptions to W magazine, no doubt. no worries, lady, this and snowglobes have instant connection to you, and a smile inevitably ensues.

cinnamon inspired me to take a test, where i discovered i apparently have an implicit preference towards white americans when it comes to race. certainly i’d like to believe differently – and i blame shaun the dog™ for licking my foot while testing was in progress.

and then there is kelly sue, a friend of old aunt amy. i tripped upon her site recently and after reading her entry today regarding the death of yet another cyclist, i am at a loss.

i didn’t know keith, but his last blog entry reminds me of many close to me who share affinities for urban biking.

i’m a cyclist, the boy is a cyclist, his roommate is a cyclist, his roommate’s boyfriend is a cyclist, my roommate is a cyclist, and the list goes on. as my own daily battles with downtown traffic continue, i cannot for a second let down my guard. a simple misjudgment or swerve the wrong way can end in tragedy.

rest in peace, keith.
