i received a rather demanding email from one OAA saying that i better update this here blog, or else.
ok, ok, said woman would never threaten me per se, but i best not tempt her…
so here goes, a forcibly written blog entry. although, she does have a point. it has been well over a month since i wrote anything. and i remember when i wrote that entry i was mildly upset at the way things were lining up in life.
since then, things haven’t got much better really. it’s colder than a penguin’s butt outside, too cold to endure an 8-mile bike commute along the blustery lakefront, and that is obviously taking a toll on my otherwise sunny demeanor.
i’ll refrain from writing things about work, but let’s just say they’re less than ideal.
let’s talk about the brighter side of the last 30+ days:
- numerous parties and get-togethers. a fake work holiday party that involved cheap pizza, cheap booze and cheap laughs at a karaoke bar; nye; a brunch post nye; my birthday; a friend’s birthday; another friend’s party; you get the idea.
- another successful trip to belle-vegas for christmas events. this time, we took a trip to the city museum in st. louis. another field trip will be planned in the spring just to go back to explore more tunnels and caves. rock.
- i turned 30. holy fuck. how the hell did that happen? my sister is looking for colleges and is set to graduate high school in may. what the…? seriously, i have no idea where the time went.
- my parents, my sis and her boyfriend appeared unannounced (well, the boy knew) on my doorstep the eve of my birthday. how bloody cool is that?
- i have a new kitchenaid stand mixer. jealous? you should be.
- i dined at schwa and i’m still drooling.
- shaun has made friends with a girl dog he’s been seeing about once a week. a couple we know has a hyper mutt who’s just over a year old. sweet as can be, but chock full of energy. the only one to tire her out? you guessed it. my own beast. they’re so damn cute together.
- i submitted a photo to jpgmag and would love anyone who’s already a member to vote – there’s one day left (jan. 31st). i’m shooting for print publication, people!
- i’ve done some mild wedding planning, but how hard can being barefoot on the beach and saying “i do” be?
