alanis, joaquin and the dragon demon

it was in the caribbean. apparently, the boy and i had vacationed at this exact spot before, recalling its serenity and proximity to the ocean.

the night skies were upon us, and i opened the back french doors of our room. it led out to a deck that was even with the ocean’s surface. some small waves lapped at my feet as i looked in the distance to see some lighting streak down.

following events are muddy in my memory, but i remember turning back only to see three menacing-looking monkeys sitting on a bench on the deck. not in hear-no-evil-see-no-evil-speak-no-evil style, but just chillin’. that is, until one attacked.

i ran back into the room, slamming the door behind me, screaming at the boy that i remembered now why it was not a good idea to go outside. he opened the doors again to see what the fuss was about, despite my warnings. it was at that moment that the ever-feared dragon demon descended from the stormy skies, embodying alanis morisette and joaquin phoenix (who just appeared suddenly, trying to make nice with the monkeys). but who knew that when the dragon demon takes over your body that you meet with an untimely demise.

and then the alarm went off.
