something i do when you're away

the nights when the boy has a bike meeting or an editors’ meeting, i have a tendency to crank up my itunes to some of the saddest songs and sing along. the choice of ballads isn’t indicative of any particular state of mind, but rather the genre i prefer to sing. some people may know i have a decent voice, but i don’t often get to exercise it as much as i’d like. naz already knows i can sing, and it’s really no secret that i do this while he’s away. usually he unlocks the front door as i’m mid-refrain. but i’m never embarrassed. i just like singing when i’m alone.
