so it goes
not that i need a reason to explain my absence from writing regularly, since i never have in the first place, it is important to note that i’ve been busy, both physically and mentally.
my sister has visited twice in the last month, with the most recent visit allowing me to channel my inner 13-year-old self as she footed the bill for new kids on the block reunion tour tickets. simply put, the show was a blast, the boys still have it, and the girls in attendance are pretty much all married or hooked up. but that didn’t stop any of us from gettin’ our groove on—even my sis, who was not even 2 years old when i saw them the first time around, managed to shake her booty to their new stuff.
naz has been biking on the weekends, and so far i’m 2 for 2 at his races, though that will officially end this weekend when he heads to the O-H-I-O for three days of racing. when he first started racing last year, i remained supportive even during the weeks when team meetings and clinics and race nights claimed him a few weekday nights. it was tough, but as his significant other, i recognize the importance to be by his side for something he so dearly loves. and now that he is on management of a team he helped organize, i feel compelled to encourage him all the more and be present when i can. besides, his teammates are damn fun to be around anyway, and the races are a hoot to witness.
the last news is the worst news, and i won’t dwell on it in this post. i’ll find time to devote a more lengthy and heartfelt write-up to it because i feel he deserves it. my father was recently diagnosed with throat cancer and his prognosis is positive. intense treatment starts next week, and he’ll be on leave from work for a minimum of 3 months. his attitude remains upbeat, and he has a network of support from family, friends, and even colleagues—his co-workers have been generous in the fact that they’ve each donated some of their sick leave to him. truly astounding.
so, yeah, i’ve been busy with some stuff. and i didn’t even mention my craftiness, the photo shoot of our apartment, dinners and other concerts, among other things. whew!

oh sissy, how i dislike you for posting such a scary pictures of me up here. lol

Jen — Always a pleasure to hang out with you, Naz and your multitude of beasts. Oh, let’s make it a habit of going for ice cream and hot chocolate at least once a week.
